First Week Jitters Whether it’s your first time teaching or you have years of experience leading a classroom, I think the first day of class is nerve-wracking for all educators. With all eyes eagerly looking up at me, I stand there waiting for one of their intuitive minds to see through my carefully constructed facade. Despite the fact that not even two hours later I will been sitting in a lecture hall on the students’ side of the podium, in this classroom I am the teacher. After a few short minutes, I find a confidence and comfort that I did not know, nor expect to have. I quickly remember that mistakes are how we learn and that 3rd graders are a pretty forgiving audience.
