Back to Spanish with Self-Directed Learning: The teacher in one of the classrooms I am in this year runs something called Self-Directed Learning; there are several activities at different stations around the classroom, and his students get to pick which ones they want to do and switch activities at their own pace. With the help of the teacher, my teaching partner and I did a trial version of this and, although noisier than usual, it worked quite well; the teacher heard students holding short conversations in Spanish unsupervised!
