Maggie O. Hanna, Ph.D.
Learning, Research, and Evaluation Director, Brilliant Detroit
Maggie O. Hanna earned her PhD in Educational Studies with a concentration in Literacy, Language, and Culture from the University of Michigan’s School of Education. She is a former elementary school teacher and current lecturer in University of Michigan’s teacher education program. Her full time role as the Learning, Research, and Evaluation Director with Brilliant Detroit allows her to utilize her passion for equity in education, family engagement, and early literacy as part of a community-based organization. Since 2016, the growing nonprofit and their partners have been developing homes in neighborhoods into equitable and engaging spaces of opportunity for families with young children across the city of Detroit.
