We fulfill our mission and reach our goals as a collective of persons with similar values, including a commitment to the development of future generations of scholars and leaders.\u00a0 The sustainability of our vision rests partially on our multiple mentoring model, which encourages bidirectional mentoring and coaching, as well as peer support.<\/span><\/p>

As mentors, we strive to foster students\u2019 research self-efficacy and encourage students to \u201cown\u201d their research projects and develop identities as researchers.\u00a0 With all of our students, but especially for those who are underrepresented, underserved, and\/or non-traditional, we acknowledge and recognize the various barriers and challenges they may encounter and we attempt to nurture and build on students existing strengths (e.g., personal, familial, cultural). <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In his position as DRPP director, Dr. Bowman advised several CSHPE masters students. In addition, both Dr. Ebreo and Dr. Bowman worked with students through the Masters Research Opportunity Program.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

DRPP researchers have actively mentored undergraduate students since 2008. Currently, our researchers welcome undergraduates as members of our research team as part of various research opportunity programs, or as paid employees when funding is available, and as volunteers.
