Include our copyright information on all instruments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. Refrain from using these measures to publicly demonstrate teachers\u2019 ability or lack of ability in mathematics. The measures were not constructed for this purpose, and doing so may negatively impact response rates in future studies. Specifically, this includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Not publicly discussing raw frequencies or number correct;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not comparing your participants to our participants in any way that reveals raw frequencies or number correct for either sample.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Users may calculate z-scores or IRT (item response theory) scores when reporting results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3. Refrain from using these items to evaluate individual teachers for tenure, pay, hiring, or any other use with high-stakes consequence. These measures are not validated for these purposes.4. Safeguard the privacy of participants in research as outlined by the host institution\u2019s Institutional Review Board procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5. Refrain from using any non-released item in any presentation, paper, article, or other public forum. Items are expensive to develop and pilot, and we are attempting to keep our item pool secure. Released items are provided that can convey a sense of our measures\u2019 purpose and design in presentations and publications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6. Refrain from making any changes to any item without our prior permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7. Refrain from distributing copies of any non-released item to individuals other than participants in your research project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">8.
