Together we will explore the deeply entrenched history of anti-Black racist ideas upon which our nation was founded and continues to function, and explore together how to expose and dismantle racism in our communities and schools.<\/p>\n

Stamped from the Beginning<\/i><\/b>\u00a0chronicles the entire story of anti\u2013Black racist ideas and their staggering power over the course of American history focusing on the lives of five major American intellectuals. He offers a window into the contentious debates between assimilationists and segregationists and between racists and anti-racists, illustrating that racist thinking did not arise from ignorance or hatred. Racist ideas were created and popularized in an effort to defend deeply entrenched discriminatory policies and to rationalize the nation\u2019s racial inequities in everything from wealth to health. While racist ideas are easily produced and easily consumed, they can also be discredited. In shedding much\u2013needed light on the murky history of racist ideas,\u00a0Stamped from the Beginning<\/i>\u00a0offers tools to expose them\u2014and in the process, reason to hope.<\/p>\n

IBRAM X. KENDI<\/b>\u00a0is one of America\u2019s foremost historians and leading antiracist voices. He is a National Book Award-winning and #1\u00a0New York Times\u00a0<\/i>bestselling author. Kendi is the Andrew W. Mellon Professor in the Humanities and the Founding Director of the\u00a0Boston University Center for Antiracist Research<\/a>. Kendi is a contributor writer at\u00a0The Atlantic\u00a0<\/i>and a CBS News correspondent. He is also the 2020-2021 Frances B. Cashin Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for the Advanced Study at Harvard University.<\/p>\n
