No trip to South Africa would be quite complete without taking in the natural beauty of the country and its wildlife. Enroute to the Nelson Mandela University @ George, the group shared a very special experience at the Gondwana Game Reserve.
During one of two game drives, members of our group had close (but safe!) encounters with elephants, zebras, hippos, giraffas, various antelope, baboons, and lions.
After an intense week of programming, being outside was a welcome break. Our visit to Gondwana was also a chance to learn about the impact of climate change on the flora and fauna of South Africa. The vast landscape of the preserve became our classroom during our brief visit.
