The UJIMA project has two goals:

  1. To understand the mathematical identities of children–how these identities grow and change from middle school to high school.
  2. To create high quality curriculum that encourages students to develop a new relationship to mathematics. Students will explore the history of math, cultures of mathematics around the world, and mathematics for social justice.
