The Michigan Admissions Collaboratory (MAC) is a “practice-to-research” center, where academic researchers and admissions professionals collaborate to design, think about, and disseminate research ideas to improve admissions policy and practice.  The MAC will think expansively about admissions practice, conducting research both national and international, across K-12 and higher education contexts.  As a practice-to-research center, we believe the best ideas for research come through a deep understanding of the problems faced by professionals and stakeholders.

The MAC is explicitly designed as a collaboratory where researchers and working professionals can cross boundaries to think with and about ideas that will infuse research-informed practices and policies in the admissions profession.  Throughout this research, improving equity and access in admissions for underserved and marginalized communities is a primary goal.
