Externally Funded Projects
Louis Stokes Regional Center of Excellence for the Study of STEM Interventions
Project period – October 2020 to September 2023
The Diversity Research & Policy program is a key stakeholder of the Louis Stokes Regional center of Excellence for the Study of STEM Interventions (LSRCE-SOSI), funded by the National Science Foundation. The LSRCE is a partnership between the University of Missouri-Columbia (lead institution), Understanding Interventions (a national nonprofit organization focusing on broadening participation in STEM and UM’s Diversity Research & Policy Program located in the School of Education. The major goal of the LSRCE-SOSI is to provide venues for training and development in evidence-based research-to- practice in STEM broadening participation. The overall project expands the reach of critical social-cognitive informed scholarship focused on underrepresented minority students by integrating different institution types (majority and minority-serving) into the existing communities of scholars dedicated to transforming higher education. Led by Dr. Ebreo, the DRPP team will collaborate with other LSRCE-SOSI partners in creating an online set of resources to complement the Center’s outreach and dissemination activities. In addition, the DRPP team will contribute to the design and implementation of the LSRCE-SOSI’s professional development institutes/workshops and related research projects.
